Malinda Jayasinghe (b. 1992) is a self-taught visual artist from Gampaha, Sri Lanka. His practice interrogates power, identity, and belonging. Grounded in his positionality as a Sinhala Buddhist male, he examines the gendered, ethnic, and religious privileges embedded within patriarchal and majoritarian structures. Working across drawing, painting, and sculpture, Jayasinghe employs research-driven methods to explore how institutionalized religion becomes entangled with body, mind, and land in post-war nation-building practices. In 2023, he completed a residency at Colomboscope and presented his debut solo exhibition at the Harold Peiris Gallery. He received the 2024 Saskia Fernando Gallery A4A grant and has since exhibited in Colombo and Delhi.
